Every year, millions of people set out with the best of intentions and set up a list of New Year’s resolutions.
Sadly, studies have shown that less than a quarter of people remain committed to their goals after a 30-day period, and less than 10% accomplish them. While you more than likely started the year off great, doing everything needed to reach your goals, chances are your enthusiasm has somewhat decreased by now. With just under five months to go until we ring in a new year again, now is as good a time as any to re-evaluate some of the more valuable resolutions you might have had for 2019.
Lose weight
Losing weight is, without a doubt, one of the most common resolutions in the history of New Year’s resolutions. In fact, as many as 18.3% of Americans make a resolution to lose weight every single year. Unfortunately, according to statistics, only 8% of these weight-loss hopefuls achieve success.
While failing at a diet can be terribly disheartening, you can always correct your mistakes and reattempt it with newfound vigor. You may find it easier to accomplish your weight loss objective if you create small, manageable goals for yourself. Other ways to boost your efforts include engaging in meal prep, drinking more water, and surrounding yourself with supportive people. And even just shedding a few pounds will make a remarkable difference to your well-being.
Improve your beauty routine
Amidst our crazy-busy lifestyles that require us to juggle a stressful career with demanding family life, we often neglect to take care of one of the most important people in the world: ourselves. Beauty-related New Year’s resolutions are not uncommon, and luckily they are, for the most part, easy to achieve. But if you have fallen off the wagon, don’t despair, you can easily pick up where you left off at any given time.
Even if you have not made any progress with regards to your beauty routine this year, you can still make a few changes that will see you looking and feeling your best as you count down the days to 2020. Some of the simplest changes to make include upping your brow game by having your eyebrows shaped on a regular basis, using a face mask once a week, and paying more attention to your lips. The Olivella Lip Roll-on with Limoncello will hydrate your lips using 100% virgin olive oil and citrus, leaving them looking positively kissable for the duration of the year.
Stress less
If one of your resolutions was to stress less this year, chances are the universe has already tested you more than a few times. You may feel like your resolve is waning fast and that your stress levels are already through the roof again. Thankfully, the year is not over yet, and there is still a lot you can do to ensure that stress does not get the better of you in 2019.
Research suggests that meditating every day can alter the neural pathways in the brain, making you more resilient to stress. Other ways to ensure that your stress levels do not debilitate you include regular exercise, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying a relaxing bath at the end of a tiring day. The Olivella Lavender Bath & Shower Gel is the ideal addition to your end-of-day routine, as the gel’s anti-aging properties will not only leave your skin feeling smooth, but the delicate lavender scent will help ease your tension before bedtime.
You can also reduce your stress levels by simplifying any other goals you may have. If you are working towards a promotion at work, for example, you can create a vision board for motivation. Alternatively, if losing weight is your goal, download an app that will make tracking your progress easier.
A New Year’s resolution is a great way to implement healthy changes in your life. It is, however, not the end of the world if you need to re-adjust your focus a few times during the year to ensure that your goals are met.
