February is here and winter seems to have no end in sight. You are wearing layers of clothing perhaps tromping through snow or rain to get to work in the morning and worst of all, the days are still too short. Not enough sun but plenty of gray sky.
If this resonates with you, we may have some temporary solutions, not to end winter of course, we wish, but to sustain yourself until that first sprig of spring pops.
Number 1:
Find a way to start your day with a special moment for yourself. It could be as simple as sitting at your kitchen table and enjoying that first cup of tea or coffee in slow sips, rather than getting it to go and gulping it down during your commute. Give yourself the gift of slowing down, even if it is brief, it will slow down your heart rate and boost your mood.
Number 2:
What do you typically do for lunch? Is it something at your desk or a quick take out on the go? No no. Lunch is sacred, in Italy there is a true break. Take a tip from the Italians and have a real pranzo! Have a hot meal, it can even be from home, but eat, savor and enjoy the reprieve from whatever you do. You deserve it. And as a mid-day pause, it can give you the needed rest to face the remainder of the day.
Number 3:
End the day with a bubble or scented bath. After all you accomplished for the day, despite the trying weather outside, once you are home, you are in your sanctuary. Before heading to bed, try a hot bath with Olivella’s Lavender Bath and Shower Gel http://www.olivellaline.com/olivella-bath-and-shower-gel-lavender The lavender will help you to relax and get a great night’s rest.
Spring will be here, but not soon enough, hopefully these tips can help you get through the winter peacefully.
